Working with Nghe An Department of Foreign Affairs
On April 17, 2015, ADDA Office in Vietnam had had a meeting with Mr. Nguyen Hai Duong - Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department of Nghe An. During the meeting the parties were notified each other about their respective projects and areas of concern to support poor communities in Nghe An.
Specifically, ADDA has introduced projects that have been implemented in the province since 2006, focusing on support to farmer groups and promotion of their agricultural productions. The work with farmer groups is also focused and market access in 3 districts: Tan Ky, Quy Hop and Nghia Dan. The Department of Foreign Affairs shared the overall socio economic development plan of the province for the period 2015 – 2020. The priorities for development are: mountainous areas, ethnic minorities and disadvantaged populations and the work will be under the New Rural program.
After the meeting the two sides agreed to strengthen the exchange and sharing of information. If there are opportunities for future collaboration focus will be on supporting the poor ethnic communities.
